The Best Horror Movies of 2019 (June – Dec)

Halloween is coming! It’s time to pick off from my previous article on the Best Horror Movies of 2019 (released between Jan to May). Now let’s focus on the best horror movies released (and upcoming) for the rest of this year starting from June.

ANNABELLE COMES HOME (June)

As compared to the previous movies in The Conjuring Universe, this chapter might be catered more towards the younger horror audience. Think ‘Goosebumps’ version of Annabelle… though it might still scare you as an adult! Watch trailer here.

THE WIND (June)

Imagine being home alone most of the time in an isolated farm (without INTERNET!). Lizzy’s life is just that – and it’s about to get worse with supernatural presence and weird neighbours (I feel ya sis!). Watch trailer here.

MIDSOMMAR (July)

Though the movie looks aesthetically pleasing with its bright and airy Instagram-like ‘preset’, the story underneath is anything ☀️? Starring Florence Pugh (who will also be in MCU’s Black Widow movie) this story follows a group of friends visiting a ‘midsummer festival’ organized by a pagan cult. Watch trailer here.

SCARY STORIES TO TELL IN THE DARK (Aug)

The famous book of horrors is now a movie… made possible by Guillermo del Toro! If you have phobia for spiders, scarecrows, monsters, and pretty much anything that haunted your dreams as a child… be warned. Watch trailer here!

IT: CHAPTER TWO (Sept)

It: Chapter Two… Do I really need to say more? ? Full trailer here.

DOCTOR SLEEP (October)

Are you a fan of Stephen King’s ‘The Shining’? You don’t want to miss this sequel then. Also what could go wrong with Ewan McGregor? Watch full trailer here.

LITTLE MONSTERS (Nov)

Lupita Nyong’o is a teacher who will stop at nothing to protect her students during a zombie infested field trip. And also there’s Josh Gad (yup, the snowman from Frozen) the selfish ‘villain’ who will be bringing unexpected fun to this comedy horror party. Watch trailer here.

BLACK CHRISTMAS (Dec)

Nothing ends the year better than a dash of festive horror. Though this is the 2nd remake of Black Christmas – do expect something different this time around (ps: more plot twists and feminism)! Full trailer here.
